User Guide

Welcome to the user guide for ubitricity charge points in Germany. You can find separate information for charging with a RFID card or app and adhoc charging with QR code as well as descriptionsfor the LED below. If you want to switch to the German user guide, please click here.

Contract-based charging with a charging RFID card or app

General Information for contract based charging

  • To start the charging event simple use your RFID card or mobile app from your E-Mobility provider.
  • The billing takes places as usual via your contract with the mobility provider.

Hold your charging card up to the RFID symbol or select the charge point in your App.

The LED starts to light up and the charge point is ready for use.

2.

Connect the charging cable to the charge point. To do this, plug in the cable and turn it counterclockwise until it can be inserted properly.

3.

Connect the cable to your vehicle too. The charging process starts and your vehicle is charging. The LED is flashing blue slowly.

4.

End the charging process with your RFID card or App. The charge point ends the charging process, unlocks the cable and you will receive the invoice according to the billing from your mobile electricity provider.

Selective adhoc charging

Charging without registration

Just use your smartphone. The tariffs will be shown to you before payment.

 

General Information for non contract based (adhoc-charging)

  • If you do not have a contract with a mobile electricity provider, simply use the QR code and charge your vehicle without further registration.
  • To do this, follow the instructions on the mobile website after scanning the QR code.
  • The tariffs will be displayed to you online before payment. Payment is made after charging.

First, scan the QR code on the charge point. Use any conventional smartphone camera for this. Follow the instructions on the mobile website.

2.

Connect the charging cable to the charge point. To do this, plug in the cable and turn it counterclockwise until it can be inserted properly.
As the last step, enter your payment details.

3.

Connect the cable to your vehicle too. The charging process starts and your vehicle is charging. The LED is flashing blue slowly.

4.

End the charging process by unlocking your vehicle and unplugging the charging cable – first on the vehicle. The charge point ends the charging process, unlocks the cable and you will receive the invoice according to the kWh you have charged via email.

Explanations on LED indicators

The lamp post charge points from ubitricity have three colored LED displays on the front. These light up or flash either individually or in combination and indicate the current status of the charge point. Below you will find an overview of the meaning of each indicator. 

Green LED

Charge point available
and ready for use 

Blue LED flashes slowly

Authorisation completed,
connected vehicle is charging

Blue LED flashes fast

Authorisation completed,
vehicle is not yet connected
or has just been disconnected

Yellow LED flashes fast

Charge point communicates
with backend for authorisation

All LED flash fast

Authorisation not successful /
charge point out of order
